Sunderland slumped to their second defeat in three games under new boss Phil Parkinson, and fans have voiced criticism of Aiden McGeady.

There are several supporters who suggest he should be dropped due to his lack of effort and contribution, with one or two calling for Lynden Gooch to take his spot.
It is a little surprising to see such discontent bubbling up. Not long ago the winger was a popular figure at the Stadium of Light and this season he has been one of Sunderland’s most productive players, with four goals and two assists.
Parkinson is likely trying to implement new ideas and find a system which works best for his players. If he manages that, McGeady could improve, but as things stand these fans are hopeful that he will be left out of the starting line-up.
